Your doctors
visit, simplified.

GETTING STARTED:

Preparing for the virtual visit

Get ready for your close-up/err… virtual visit/really, just stay in your PJs

Test your tools!

Before your scheduled Rainey Day Doc appointment with a healthcare provider, it’s important that you test out your tools so you don’t waste time fooling around with boring things like your audio when you’re on the call.  Check to make sure your webcam works, your volume is turned up (not muted!) and your microphone is on. This is also a great time to remove that piece of spinach from your teeth.

Get rid of any distractions!

Along with your pet parrot, remove any other unnecessary distractions from the equation before your meeting takes place. What do we mean?

  • Plug in your computer/mobile device/spaceship – whatever you’re using to communicate during your appointment. The last thing you want is to share your symptoms with a blank screen because your battery died.
  • Confirm your connection – Whether you’re using Wi-Fi, an Ethernet cable, or a puppy dog leash, just make sure you won’t get lost.
  • Go for quiet lighting – And by that we mean, find a quiet space (whether you’re at home, at work, or somewhere in between) and adjust the lighting so you’re viewable on-screen.
  • Close down everything else – To keep the quality of your video chat high and to make sure the Doc can see those pearly whites, check to see that you’ve closed down all other unnecessary programs on your computer or mobile device. This is a good time to restart your computer (or at the very least, your browser) if you haven’t in a while. Bringing us to our next point…

Be sure you’re running the Tesla of web browsers – Okay, don’t go overboard. But it is important to use the correct browser (Chrome) to match your online web app (if you go that route). Every app has some kind of software support site that tells you what browser will give you the highest quality call.

Consider getting dressed Remember, this is a face-to-face meeting, so it wouldn’t hurt for you to put on some clothes.

Write down your talking points – just like when you go into a hospital, it’s best to go in with a few prepared questions. Take a few minutes and write down your thoughts so you can be sure the doctor covers everything. Remember, this is your visit.

Don’t forget you’re not alone – keep the technical support number close by (480-493-5238), just in case you run into any issues and need further assistance eVisit support is available 7 days a week, Mon-Fri 8 am – 9 pm and Sat-Sun 11 am -8 pm.  Guess what? These nerds are just as cool as you…feel free to text them with any questions.
